Omar Gallardo worked was an immigrant to Sonoma county who with much sacrifice graduated from college. Omar worked for multiple non-profit organizations in Sonoma County that provided opportunities for youth and their families to succeed. Omar dedicated his time to his family and the community and through this scholarship we want to keep his memory alive and promote the education of current and future leaders in our community.

Lideres del Futuro Avanzando wants to honor his work and has created one $500 scholarship for a future Latinx teacher or social worker. Omar taught us that one individual can in fact make a difference. The deadline for this scholarship is May 30th at 5pm.

Must enroll full time at SRJC or SSU Fall 2025
•  Career: Teacher or Social Worker
•  Minimum GPA required = 2.0 (Attach most recent transcript to
   application)

Omar trabajó para múltiples organizaciones sin fines de lucro en el condado de Sonoma que brindaban oportunidades para que la juventud y sus familias tuvieran éxito. Omar dedicó su tiempo a su familia y a la comunidad, y a través de esta beca queremos mantener viva su memoria y promover la educación de los líderes actuales y futuros en nuestra comunidad.

Líderes del Futuro Avanzando quiere honrar su trabajo y ha creado una beca de $500 para un futuro maestro o trabajador social de la comunidad Latinx. Omar nos enseñó que una sola persona, de hecho, puede marcar la diferencia. La fecha límite para solicitar esta beca es el 30 de mayo a las 5 p.m.

Requisitos para aplicar:

✅ Ser estudiante de último año de preparatoria en el condado de Sonoma y graduarse este año

✅ Inscribirse a tiempo completo en SRJC o SSU en el otoño de 2025

✅ Carrera: Educación (Maestro/a) o Trabajo Social

✅ Promedio mínimo requerido: 2.0 (Adjuntar la transcripción más reciente a la solicitud)

✅ Se tomará en cuenta la necesidad financiera
