We’re looking for a passionate individual who seeks educational growth and wants to help the Laredo Immigrant Alliance increase awareness and community education for Webb County residents around Operation Lone Star. This intern will get to work alongside committed and hard-working members for various projects, including creating educational content for the LIA social media platforms, website and content that can also be printed for community education purposes, and  the intern will also help with some research and event planning.

Interns participating in LIA's Internship Program may receive a stipend to offset costs associated with learning and participation.

Internship Responsibilities                          

• Research how Operation Lone Star impacts Webb County and immigrants/ migrants families in our city, create literature or social media content to share these research learnings
• Create digestible content for LIA social media pages that educates the Webb County community on Operation Lone Star and other legislations that impacts it.
• Create educational Know Your Rights /OLS content, or repost content, in our web page.
• Attend monthly team meetings and volunteer meetings.
• Work alongside organizers to plan content creation and one community education events around OLS or issues that OLS impacts
• Assist LIA with community outreach and recruitment for OLS events and other engagements.

Location: Must Reside in Webb County

Temp/ Part Time: 10-12 hours per week

Internship Timeline: April-July /August-December
