Description

Who We Are:

Daivergent (https://www.daivergent.com/) is a mission-driven technology startup headquartered in NYC. We believe that every adult with disability deserves to realize their fullest potential. We have developed the world's first all-virtual curriculum to help them build employment, life, and social skills -- taught 100% online.

As an Online Coach for Daivergent, you will play a crucial role in empowering our adult clients with diverse backgrounds and abilities to achieve their personal and professional goals. Your responsibilities include teaching and modeling professional job skills, supporting on life skills development, and improving communication + social aptitude, all through our accessible video conferencing platform.

NOTE: This is a 1099 gig-based role. That means you will set your own hours and be given the opportunity to accept clients, but you are not guaranteed to receive clients. This is not intended to be a full time job. Our clients typically request coaching between 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) for 1-3 hours per week for up to 6-12 months.

Our most successful coaches fit one of the following profiles:

- You are looking for a 'side-hustle'/gig work, and are already employed in a role within disability, special education, coaching, human services, or a similar field, OR
- You are retired after a career in human services, and looking for a role where you can set your own hours and make some extra income, OR
- You are someone with a couple hours available each day to work remotely, but not looking for more hours beyond that.

You should apply if:

- You want to be part of a company that is tech-oriented and mission-oriented -- bonus if you’re excited by a company that will help people with autism and disabilities get the training they need to achieve their aspirations
- You love teaching others and seeing them maximizing their potential, and know how to motivate people to achieve their goals
- You are excited about being part of a young company that is growing quickly and takes your feedback seriously
- You want to feel like your contributions aren’t just a cog in a machine, but actually have a direct, measurable social impact on overlooked populations

Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to adolescents and adults with disabilities, focusing on job, life, and social skills development
- Collaborate with clients to develop learning plans and then help them achieve goals in their plans
- Use Daivergent tools and resources to help clients achieve goals in their plans
- If supporting on job skills, have knowledge of a wide range of careers and job-seeking strategies to better assist clients.
- Use video conferencing tools such as Zoom and MS Teams for client interactions and remote job-related activities.

Candidate Requirements (Must Haves):

One of the following educational requirements:

  • BA in Psychology, Human Services, Special Education, Teaching, Disability, or any other related field, OR
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) with 5+ years of work experience helping adults with disabilities

- Minimum of 2 years of either (1) recruitment or project management experience with a focus on research and job lead identification, (2) providing direct services to an individual with disability, or (3) teaching, coaching, or tutoring experience

- Availability between 5 PM ET to 1 AM ET (Mondays to Fridays), or 11 AM to 11 PM ET (Saturdays or Sundays) - we are prioritizing coaches who are available to support clients on weekends

- At least 21 years old

- Legally authorized to work in the US, AND physically located in the US

Successful Candidates Should Also Have:

- An ability to improvise and “think on your feet”, and adjust your instruction accordingly depending on the responsiveness of your students
- Patience for supporting students who may take more time to understand
- Creativity due to the sometimes dynamic curriculum that we teach
- Good energy and outgoing personality
- Strong positivity and ability to foster a non-judgmental environment
- Readiness to embrace a “startup mindset”, and have some tech-savviness (we will help you learn this too!)

Benefits

- Competitive hourly rates
- Bonus incentives and opportunities to increase your hourly rate
- 100% remote role from anywhere in the US
- Be at the forefront of enabling the disability community to achieve independence and self-sufficiency
