Position Summary: 

CIRC & CIRC Action Fund is seeking a motivated individual to support priority campaigns, team projects, and political strategy by executing policy and electoral research. The will intern will work closely with the Policy and Campaigns Manager and Political Director.

The internship is a part time temporary position, working 15-20 hours a week for $25/hr. This position will start in January 2025 and end mid-May 2025. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the Political team to advance goals and strategies for statewide legislative campaigns and plans. some text
    • Research projects related to campaign work such as healthcare and worker’s rights policy and the impacts on immigrant communities.
    • Create bilingual policy and campaign materials for steering committees and CIRC members
    • Work with coalition members to strengthen external communications surrounding our policy work and strategy at the capitol. 
  • Work with the Political team to advance goals and strategies for CIRC Action Fund’s electoral campaigns and plans.
  • Time allowing, support research for communication strategies for priority campaigns and narrative work.
  • Work with other departments to support projects as needed that fulfill CIRC’s & CIRC Action Fund’s mission & priorities. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  1. Research: Policy/academic research experience preferred. Attention to detail with heavy reading and writing required. 

  1. Strong communication: Ability to community complex policies in simplified terms. Maintain effective coordination and relations with members, staff, and stakeholders.

  1. Organizational skills: Ability to coordinate and research the various moving components of coalition and campaigns.

  2. Teamwork and collaboration: Willingness and ability to work collectively with diverse individuals and organizations across campaigns and regions.

  3. Bilingual: Spanish/English strongly preferred.

  4. Flexibility: This position requires flexibility to work some evenings and weekends during the legislative session.

  1. Interest or passion: Having a passion for immigrant rights, human rights, advocacy or public policy a plus. 

  1. Committed to Anti-Oppression All interns are expected to be active participants in CIRC’s internal anti-oppression and inclusivity efforts to make progress toward a vision of an organizational culture that reflects the values/principles that we are fighting for in the world

Terms: 

While this is a remote position, some in-person at the capitol, community events or office may be required. The internship is a part time temporary position, working 15-20 hours a week for $25/hr. This position will start in January 2025 and end mid-May 2025.
